7 Must Listen Podcasts for Creative Entrepreneurs

My name is Louise and I am a podcast addict.

I started listening to podcasts last year after finishing maternity leave and returning back to my day job as a Marketing Manager 4 days a week. I wanted something other than the radio to listen to during my 40 minute each way commute and in entered podcasts.

Once I started listening, I couldn’t stop and I am now officially addicted. I love reading blog posts but podcasts are something I can listen to whilst at the gym or in the car. I always learn something new from the people/podcasts I listen to, so I thought I’d make a list and share them all with you. Here’s a list of my 7 must listen podcasts for creative entrepreneurs and small businesses.

7 Must Listen Podcasts for Creative Entrepreneurs

Being Boss

Being Boss was the first podcast I listened to and I pretty much binge listened to all of them in one go. Being Boss hosts, Kathleen and Emily, both run successful branding and web design business and their stories, advice and interviews are about being your own boss, the way you want to be boss in both work and life. Sharing real advice from other boss guests as well as their own experiences, this podcast is a must listen.

Ctrl Alt Delete

This is a new podcast that only launched this month but I already know I’m going to love it. The first two episodes with Elizabeth Glibert and Zoe Sugg ‘aka Zoella’ were so good and I must admit, as much as I love the American podcasts I listen to, it’s nice to find a UK based one. Emma Gannon of Girl Lost in the City (girllostinthecity.com/) talks to those who have grown up with the internet about how the internet and social media has changed their lives and the lessons they’ve learned along the way.

All Up in Your Lady Business

This is a more recent discovery but one that I am thoroughly enjoying listening to. Jaclyn Mellone and Jessica Stansberry host the All Up in Your Lady Business podcast and you can hear them two times a week interviewing rockstar lady entrepreneurs and just generally having a good time. I never fail to laugh when listening to these two. Well worth a listen.

Blazing Creative

A fairly new discovery but having listened to quite a few of their episodes now, it’s well worth a recommendation. Hosted by Meghan Maydel of Moxie & Grace and Stephanie Schertz of Bushyl, Blazing Creative is a podcast for creative entrepreneurs who dream big, hustle hard, and love a good adventure. Meghan and Stephanie cover topics ranging from starting your business as a side hustle, to leaving your day job to marketing and business advice.

The Get Paid Podcast

Another one in which I binge listened the first series in one go. What I love about this podcast is that during the first season, Claire Pelletreau really got down deep into the numbers with her guests and it was great to hear from other small business owners about the finance breakdowns in their business. In season 2, Claire and the addition of co-host Val Geisler, cover a variety of small business based topics and whilst they are still great episodes to listen to, I must admit that I do miss the finance breakdowns from the first season.

The Lively Show

Hosted by Jess Lively, Jess interviews guests, who range from prominent bloggers and creative entrepreneurs to health and wellness experts and best-selling authors such as Elizabeth Gilbert. Designed to uplift, inspire and add a little bit of intention to your every day, one of the reasons I love Jess’s podcast is down to the variety of content and guests she has on her show. Sometimes we all need a break from taking in business content and The Lively Show allows me to mix it up with lifestyle content such as relationships, health and wellbeing.

Make It Happen

A UK based podcast that I have listened to from the beginning. Well another one that I discovered and then binge listened from the beginning! Jen Carringon, host of Make It Happen, is a content coach and mentor for creatives and her podcast is for curious, big-hearted, purpose-driven creatives. In Jen’s words, if you’re ready to build an impactful, fulfilling, and sustainable creative life then this podcast is one for you.

I hope I’ve introduced you to some new podcasts. I’m always up for discovering new podcasts so do let me know what podcasts you love to listen to.
